Faculty and staff who would like to visit other academic libraries in Vermont, and check out books directly from those libraries, can sign up for the Vermont Consortium of Academic Libraries (VCAL) reciprocal borrowing program. Complete the Borrower Details portion of the application form, and mail, fax, or email the form to:

A borrower’s card will be issued to you. When checking out items, you may also be asked to provide a photo ID. By signing the application form, you agree to follow the lending libraries’ policies and procedures. Borrowing privileges must be renewed annually and may be revoked by your home or lending library at any time. How Many Items Can I Borrow?
There is a limit of 5 video items and 15 books which can be checked out at one time. The maximum number of items that can be checked out is 15 (for example, you can check out 5 videos and 10 books or 3 videos and 12 books).
How Long Can I Keep Books from Other Libraries? Can I Renew Them Online?
- DVDs – 2 weeks
- Books & audio materials – 4 weeks
Books, audio and video materials may be renewed once as long as another person has not requested them. To renew materials, call 1-800-431-0025 or email library@vtc.edu.
