Helps students learn the importance of keywords, how to broaden and narrow searches, and how to identify the subject terms in their research topic area.

Evaluating Websites Worksheet (PDF)

Helps students think critically about information found on the Web and how to evaluate search results.

Popular vs. Scholarly Sources: Vaccinations (PDF)

Provides examples of different types of sources in the health sciences field along with a discussion activity.

Popular vs. Scholarly Sources: Cell Phones (PDF)

Provides examples of different types of sources in the psychology/sociology field along with a discussion activity.

Popular vs. Scholarly Sources: Alzheimer’s Research (PDF)

Provides examples of different types of sources in the medical field along with a discussion activity.

Preventing Plagiarism (PDF)

Teaches students the importance of completing original work as well as citing sources properly. Include two parts: the first part helps students identify whether or not certain scenarios are considered plagiarism; the second part provides practice creating correct citations in MLA format. Can easily be adjusted for any citation style.
