What I do at the library
I work at and manage the Hartness library during the night time. I also manage the Hartness Library Archives which spans about 150 years for the history of Vermont Tech campus. I also do book ordering, primarily in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities areas.
What’s I’m reading/listening to/watching right now
I am reading through all of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winners, and am currently on The Shipping News. I don’t have a long commute so I do not listen to much music when I drive. I also do not watch a lot of TV but I do enjoy watching major tennis tournaments, soccer, and hockey.
Favorite “hidden library gem”
The archives have a lot of interesting materials. I just recently added catalogs that go back over 100 years ago from when Vermont Tech was the Vermont State School of Agriculture.
Fun fact
I used to act in high school plays, including playing the old man Francis Nurse in The Crucible when I was 14 years old.
Favorite animal
Anything but snakes.
What’s the most recent book you bought for the library?
Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism and Progress by Steven Pinker
