What I do at the library
I’m a reference librarian, so you’ll often find me stationed at the library’s front desk, ready to offer help on searching our collection, or making sense of the research process. I also answer reference questions online and over the phone, and visit classes to provide information literacy instruction.
What’s I’m reading/listening to/watching right now
I’m rereading Philip Pullman’s terrific “His Dark Materials” series in honor of his newest release: “The Book of Dust.” I also finally got around to watching “The Shape of Water,” which is all kinds of brilliant.
Favorite “hidden library gem”
We have access to an article entitled “The Perils of Bungee Jumping” I’m grateful this exists because now I can remove this activity from my bucket list without feeling any guilt!
Fun fact
When I was little, I had a rather bizarre collection: Cereal Boxes. I had upwards of a hundred boxes stored down in the basement. What can I say… I like cereal!
Favorite animal
Probably dogs (don’t tell my cat).
What’s the most recent book you bought for the library?
Walmart in the Global South: Workplace Culture, Labor Politics, and Supply Chains
