The library subscribes to thousands of newspapers, magazines, and journals which are housed online in library databases. There are several ways to search for articles.
Databases by Subject
select the most relevant databases for your topic or course
Databases by Title
see an alphabetical list of all library databases and select a specific one by name
Periodicals by Title
search for a specific newspaper, magazine, or journal by title to see which database houses that title
Search Newspapers
search for articles in Vermont, national, and international newspapers
Search Google Scholar
use Google Scholar's Library Link to search Hartness databases and article citations on the open Web
Databases by Subject
Click on the Find Articles tab and select "Search Databases by Subject." Browse the subject categories and select the one that is closest to your topic or course. Databases are listed in order of relevance, so the first one in the list may be a good place to start.

Databases by Title
Click on the Find Articles tab and select "Search Databases by Title."
If you are looking for a database by name (title), you can locate it in this list alphabetically. Some of the database collections have names which indicate the contents of their collections (e.g., Business Source Premier, Education Research Complete, Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection).

Popular database collections include Opposing Viewpoints, which offers magazine and journal articles about current events and common research topics, JSTOR, which houses an archived collection of social science and humanities titles, and ScienceDirect, which houses peer-reviewed/academic journals in a variety of science and social science subject areas
Periodicals by Title
Click on the Find Articles tab and select "Search Journals by Title." You can Find a specific newspaper, magazine, or journal (e.g.Journal of Social Psychology, The Economist, New York Times) by entering the title into the search box. You can also browse through newspaper, magazine, and journal titles by subject.

When you locate the title you want, you may have the option to retrieve articles from that title in several different databases; select the database which houses that title within the date range that you need.
