Technical Problems
Login Errors
To access databases and order materials from the library catalog, you will need your VSC ID and password. This is the same as your Moodle ID and password. For further login instructions and more information, go to the VSC portal page.
If you have logged into the VSC system, but are still experiencing errors, try clearing your Internet cache (browsing history) and cookies (saved passwords, etc...). Watch these videos to learn how to clear your Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox browser.
Pop-up Errors
Many of the Hartness Library resources will open in a new browser window. If you have a pop-up blocker on your Internet browser, we recommend that you change your security or privacy settings to "Allow pop-ups from this site."
Video Tutorial Errors
Library and database videos are Adobe Flash presentations. If the tutorials do not appear or do not load, download the most recent version of Flash. You may also need to restart your Internet browser or computer after downloading. If you are still not able to view the tutorials, check that your pop-up blocker settings are set to "Allow pop-ups from this site." Some firewall or utility settings are set to block Flash content (such as ads), so you may need to adjust your firewall settings to allow ActiveX controls and Flash (SWF) content.
Database Errors
When you access a library database from a link on the Library homepage, the only login screen you should get is the portal login which prompts for your College Moodle login. If you get a database vendor login screen, or are having trouble accessing a database or the full-text of an article, have a look at the Database Troubleshooting Guide. If you are still having problems, please contact the library for help.
General Computer or Technical Errors
