Media for the Classroom

Library Streaming Video Collections

Streaming Video from the Web

In addition to the films available in the Hartness Library collection, you may also find Video & Audio Materials on the Web which are freely available. Please check with staff members at your Academic Center to make sure the Internet bandwidth can accommodate streaming in the classroom and to reserve the necessary classroom equipment.

DVDs from Hartness Library

Feature films, documentaries, and sound recordings are available for classroom use. Learn more about using the library catalog to search for visual materials.

Though CCV centers do not offer a formal system of reserve materials, you can request that visual materials be sent to you at a specific time in the semester by using this media request form.

Faculty can coordinate with academic center staff to make the material available for on-site viewing outside of the class time; in addition, materials may be lent to students for individual viewing. Faculty members are responsible for visual materials checked out to them.

Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries

You can request to borrow visual materials from other libraries. Use the Worldcat library catalog to locate items, then either place requests directly from the "Request Item" link within the Worldcat item record, or use the Request Video form for an interlibrary loan.

Please note that it can take up to two weeks to receive materials and many academic libraries DO NOT lend films through interlibrary loan. Please call the library (1-800-431-0025) if you have questions about item availability.
